continue

Hi everybody!!
In some days time we are going to finish our course ooohh, and we’ll know who is blog writer, capricorne, bluphie, bakerna2, aire, orlando and all the others, haha.

Today I’m going to continue with the explanation of my last blog, because I think that it’s an important topic to talk about. Now I’m going to write about looking after our self.

For feeling good and looking good it’s a good idea to run, because is an excellent exercise. Before you start running, you should warm up first, using slow movement that makes all your muscles work. But be careful! If you stretch when your muscles are cold, you might do yourself an injury. You should start exercising slowly, at a pace you can keep up for 15-20 minutes (I’m not a gym teacher but more or less the rules are good to follow them, in my opinion).

It’s ok if you go to bed late occasionally but if you regularly cut down on your sleep, it will soon start to have a bad effect on your skin. If you get a good night rest, it will do your appearance like a top model. Lack of sleep can cause acne and dry skin (I’ve read it in a magazine, it’s true).

Most of us live in large polluted cities. If we got more fresh air, we would look healthier and more attractive. Walking slowly is useful but a quick pace gets more oxygen into you lungs.

Did you know that standing, sitting and walking badly can make you look heavier than you really are? If we watched the way we sat and stood, it would improve our appearance a great deal.

These are my advice, for today it’s enough. I hope this can make you feel and look good.

diets

Today, it’s Sunday, and like every Sunday I tried to write an article in English for my blog. What happen? Us you all see in my blog there aren’t many articles and this is my diary problem: time.

But today it’s a different Sunday, today is mother’s day, happy birthday to all of you!!
So thinking about this, and about this horrible rain-day, and also dreaming about the summer I’ve decided to write about a big problem in our society: the dangers of doing diets, something that many people do, especially women.

Every year the same thing happens. When the good weather stars the obsession with losing the few kilos we’ve put on over the winter begins (with turrons, mones, cakes and chocolate). People TRUY (plural) one of the miracles cures for weight loss advertised on the television or in the magazines (the diet of the egg, or of the fruit, or of the magic herbs, etc). These diets tend to be unhealthy as the may lead to serious nutrional imbalances. For example diets which are low in protein, with many others.

Although many diets can help you losing weigh just going one diet and it’s not the best answer. Usually you gain weight back after you abandoned the diet. If you want to lose weight and keep it out, you have to change much more than just what you eat. You have to change how and when you eat, and you have to start going to the gym or exercise more often. So for losing weight we have to follow three things: firstly, find out why they are overweight (not all the people need a diet because if you weight 30 kilos and you measures 1,60 m you have a big problem), secondly, you have to follow a healthy eating plan (eating a little of everything), and thirdly exercising regularly.

So these are my advices. Good chance!

Becoming humans

Becoming humans

This documentary explains us the evolution of the human specie during 4 million years.
First of all, we knew the doctor Donald C. Johansson who is a researcher that wants to discover the evidences of the human’s origins and this is the starting of amazing articles, photos, definitions, dialogues of many specialists and his knowledge of the evolution.
We all know that the story of our antecessors began in Africa where a complex culture was developed by animals and their adaptation. By doing researches in areas like Ethiopia we have found partials skeletons of animals that seem to walk on two legs and this was the first evidences for the human’s origins. The knowledge of the experts everyday is bigger and the studies of the footprints, the environmental impacts (like the cool and dry period that was the exiction of some species), and also the fantastic Darwin have made our knowledge of the evolution and adaptation something very important.

This is what I have learnt from the documentary but with the chat of Maria del Mar I have learnt more. I have enjoyed so much her meeting and her explanations because she reflected her love for her job and this made the talk much more interesting. I think our class has made so many questions and she was very pleased to be with us.

Now I want to add to my blog this article of Homo Floresiensis because this point of the chat has woken up my curiosity and I would like to share with yours my searching about this hominid full of mysteries.
Homo floresiensis: the Hobbit
Homo floresiensis is a species of dwarf human discovered at the Liang Bua cave on the Indonesian island of Flores in 2003. H. floresienses was only about 1 meter in height and fully bipedal, with a very small brain size of 417cc. The skull has human-like teeth with a receding forehead and no chin. floresiensis fossils have been discovered from 38,000 to 18,000 years ago, though archeological evidence suggests it lived at Liang Bua between at least 95,000 and 13,000 years ago. It used stone tools and fire, and hunted pygmy elephants (mostly juvenile ones), Komodo dragons, and the giant rats found on Flores. Its discoverers believe that floresiensis is a dwarf form of Homo erectus - it is not uncommon for dwarf forms of large mammals to evolve on islands.
The most complete floresiensis fossil, consists of an almost complete skull and a partial skeleton consisting of leg bones, parts of the pelvis, hands and feet, and some other fragments. The skeleton found was probably an adult of about 30, probably female judging by the pelvis. Males could have been larger, though the other fossils found so far indicate only individuals about the same size as floresciensis . Because of the damp condition and young age, the bones have not fossilized (i.e. had not turned to stone), and reportedly had the consistency of mashed potatoes.
The brain size of the floresiensis skull is extraordinarily small, at 380cc. This is as small as any australopithecine ever discovered, and fairly typical for a chimpanzee. (Chimps range from about 300 to 500cc, averaging about 400cc, but are physically bigger than floresiensis.) This is smaller than would be expected even for a dwarf form of Homo erectus, and suggests there was active selection for a small brain size for some reason. (Human pygmies, incidentally, are nothing like H. floresiensis; their brains are almost as large as those of normal-sized humans)
There has been some speculation that the stone tools found with it were actually made by Homo sapiens, mainly because it is hard to believe a creature with such a small brain could make such sophisticated stone tools. There is no other evidence in support of this, however, and if it were not for the small brain size, there would be no hesitation about assuming floresiensis made the tools because of the close association between the tools and the fossils. The same tools are found through the entire deposit (from 90,000 to 13,000 years ago) and, interestingly, they are not like any stone tools made by Homo erectus.
Because evolving from erectus to floresiensis is such a drastic reduction in body size, there has been some speculation that floresiensis might actually have evolved from something smaller, such as the
Dmanisi hominids found in Georgia, some of which have brain sizes between 600 and 700 cc, smaller than the 800-900cc typical of early erectus.
Modern humans arrived on Flores between 55,000 and 35,000 years ago, and presumably interacted with floresiensis, though there is no evidence of this at Liang Bua. However Indonesian folklore tells of creatures called Ebu Gogo which were small, inarticulate, and walked with an odd gait. This sounds remarkably suggestive of floresiensis, but it could easily be coincidence - if floresiensis had been found in Ireland, we'd possibly be wondering if they were leprechauns.
The discovery of H. floresiensis does not change the broad picture of human evolution, including our lineage - it was certainly not ancestral to us. But since it is the most extreme example of human adaptation ever found, it suggests that humans are more subject to evolutionary forces than we tend to think. And the fact that floresiensis lived so recently and yet has been unknown until now suggests that there could be other surprises waiting in the human family tree.

friends

Who is your friend?
How you know that this person is your friend?

These are questions that sometimes I though.

What do you think about it?
How can I know who is my friend?

I’m a very sociable people and it’s easy for me to express my feelings and talk about my life. Also I’m a confident person and many people come to me and explain me them problems but, at the end, who of these people would be next to you in all time: when is the worst day in your life and your best day? Who?

Finally, I realized that I have any colleagues, partners, but only a few of them are friends.

CHRISTMAS

Hi everybody! It’s me again, how are you?

Christmas is coming and it’s time for peace and love but the most important thing about these days is the fact of being with the family, all together.

Anyway, I want to write about one of my experiences of Christmas.
When I was a little girl who love play with her toys, match films of Peter Pan, drew cartoons, and believed in fairs and also in PAPA NOËL and the three kings, of course.

For me it was very traumatic to realized that these magical people didn’t exist, that there were only a fantasy , that parents were who bought the presents for Christmas time.
Why? Why this lies? So I started to think and I said: “Is Ratoncito Pérez a lie too?” and the answer were affirmative. Oh my God!! What a pity!! What a world of liers!!

Now, I’m older and it seems that all this of Christmas is only a strategy for buy and buy, spend more and more money in clothes and toys. But not at all, because is like a manner for demonstrating to the people that you love them that they are important and you want them to be happy. It’s difficult to accept that Papa Noel is a lie but when you see the other hand of the party is not as bad as you have though. So, why not, be happy these days and muse the holidays with the people you most love.

there's no star in heaven that we can't reach

Hello to everybody!

Today I want to write about a funny activity I have done in the gym.
Like every Friday afternoon I decided to go to the gym and try a new activity for fancy doing sport, and today the class was “dansa del ventre” (I don’t know how to say it in English).

The “dansa del ventre” is one of the oldest dances in the world which many Oriental cities danced like a spiritual tradition. The women danced without shoes doing some rounds with old the body, it seems like they would feel the energy in their bodies. First of all this dances were danced in the temples of Egypt but after years these dances were played in the streets, bars, for entertainment.

I didn’t know anything of this dance since I have start the class of today I would say it’s very interesting and relaxing (of course is a little bit difficult at first) class that everybody can do. I think that in all gyms do this activities and it’s for people of all ages. I have been laughing all the class.

I recommend this activity for brave people that want to try new things because life is three days!
